WordPress Mobile Web vs WordPress Web editor

In part III of my series on the various ways to manage your WordPress blog I'll be comparing the WordPress Mobile website with the WordPress website.

The Mobile Web WordPress is just a basic text site with a series of tabbed screens.  The default one when you go on the site is the stats tab, it lists your WordPress blogs with the number of visitors for today and yesterday, the next tab is the Post tab, it has a drop down menu to select which of your blogs you want to post to, then a title text box, the post text box. the Categories text box and the tags text box and save as draft and post buttons.  The editor is more enhanced than the QuickPress widget on your blog Dashboard but it is still basic compared to the standard WordPress editor or Windows Live Writer 2011. Then there is a Bookmark tab and Logout tab.

If you have got a wordpress.com or even host your own blog using the wordpress.org Blogging software (for more on wordpress.org visit the official wordpress.org site here) you are probably using one of two options for writing your posts and that is either the basic QuickPress editor widget in your Dashboard or the more powerful enhanced editor that allows you to add url links either showing the full url or to mask the url link in a word that describes the link as well as to be able to work with the post using html code if you are proficient in working with raw html.  The downside of this is that you can only write posts while you are online.

If you want a to write a quick post while you are on the move then I would recommend the WordPress Mobile site, but if you want a more powerful editor then I’d recommend the WordPress web editor.

  2. Question: using the Wordpress mobile widget I created a post, left the status as Draft and clicked "Upload Now". I'm unable to locate where this draft post actually went. It's no where to be found. What does the Upload Now button actually do, and where should I look for the post I created? Thanks

I'm not to sure as I only tend to use the Web version or occasionally the iPod Touch/iPhone app or the BlackBerry app and now the Android app.

  4. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know
a few of the pictures aren't loading correctly. I'm not sure why but I think
its a linking issue. I've tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.

  8. I've been blogging since September 2010. Running a blog is quite easy but time consuming. The hard part is coming up with great content without having anyone writing articles along side of me.

My New Years resolution this year is to write more articles, but it might be hard to keep up with as I've got too bring up s young family and job search as well as write articles for my blog as I only do it as a hobby and don't get any form of income from my work.

  10. First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out
how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?

    Appreciate it!

  11. I used to be like that when I first started. I then started scouring Newspaper websites for articles that I could then write about. I then just started writing about stuff that interests me or gets on my nerves.

Also only write when you feel like it and don't push to write if you're not in the mood.

  12. I'm really enjoying the design and layout of your website.

It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did
you hire out a designer to create your theme? Excellent
    work!
